How important do you think it is?

Somewhat important...they like admitting interesting people.

...>< dont; no how to answer them

it's not exactly a formal thing...so don't make it one. didn't they say somewhere on the application to have fun with it (it's been almost exactly a year since i did the app, so i'm not sure)? it really is your best chance to show them your personality.

at the same time, don't go overboard and sound completely uncultured and/or silly. like what margaritasalt17 said...be sure to sound interesting.

wow...i did have fun on it O.o =D took less than 5min sigh back to the Other special experiences or background, or unusual hobbies: ...empty of all thoughts...

it's just so that they can learn a little bit more about who you really are. they won't reject you because the last book you read was harry potter

yeah I honestly think it's them trying to learn a little about each applicant... Princeton does the same thing.. I don't think your answers have that much effect on your decision

actually, i'm sure of one answer on my quick take...i'll do one better than Harry Potter for the last book i read...

it was 12th Lemony Snicket book :D
