Quick Transfer Question

I am desperate to transfer to Yale and I am going to NYU next year. I have a grand total of an 1840 ( i know awful) and i took it 4 times and studied extensively. i am strongly considering giving the ACT a try. is it ok to take it after high school and i am thinking of shooting for a 32 or a 33. and should i take it with the writing section or not? Any advice would be great! thanks in advance.

Well if writing was one of your weakspots on the SATs it would be a pretty lateral move to take them in the ACT too.

Writing was one of my strongpoints lol it was the math that was the worst.. thanks so much though....any other thoughts i am desperate!

Required Testing | Transfer Students | Office of Undergraduate Admissions

From the Yale website: Yale requires the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) SAT Reasoning Test (SAT I) (Code No. 3987) or the ACT Assessment Plus Writing (Code No. 0618).

You have to take it with the writing to transfer to Yale.

I don't understand what you guys have against NYU.

how is 1840 terrible?

Not to be Captain Obvious, but NYU is decent, it's just that Yale is much stronger academically (and prestigious).

Yes it is ok to take the SAT or ACT in college. Many people do it.

Actually, I don't know my source, but I know I applied to NYU and UPenn, and one or both of the schools said that they'd rather you didn't take the exams in college, that they're designed to test you at a certain point in your life.

its not that an 1840 is terrible its just not strong enought to get me to the school(s) i want to go to. i know nyu is a great school, but of the schools i applied to it was my last choice and i am not a huge fan of the no campus thing. cliche i know. i really really want to go to yale, so any advice would be great. i also am aiming for cornell and gtown
