Okay, so this is an update of the previous thread. First, my school miscalculated my GPA:
Freshman year: 3.11
Sophomore year: 2.55
Junior year (current): 2.75
Overall GPA: 2.80

PSAT score: 1580
Highest prospected SAT score: 1790
Shooting for: 1800

Senior year schedule:
- English 4
- AP European History
- Psychology through Film & Literature
- Discrete Math/Probability and Statistics
- Environmental Science

Chance me for:
- Quinnipiac
- Hofstra
- Monmouth
- Bentley
- U of Scranton
- Arcadia

I would apply to Hofstra and Monmouth EA, and all others RD. And if it makes any difference, my high school is in the top 30 statewide.

Low Reach or Match for all schools. Just lift your SAT score and your GPA to at least a 3.0 and you should be fine!

@Brian23g thanks!

Bump

I’m attending Quinnipiac’s Spring Open House on May 12. Could that possibly sway their admissions officers? :)

Well the GPA is a little low, get it above a 3.0 and I’d say you have a strong chance, especially if you back them up with more extracurriculars, but as of now you definitely have a shot at these schools, good luck!

I think Bentley is a reach. I know kids with much higher stats that were denied.

@Twinmom2014 well, that’s why it’s my fourth choice.

Well, it turns out that my GPA was correctly calculated. 2.7 W, 2.6 UW :(

If you can really get that 1800 sat, you’re in for all of them. Use your last couple of years to higher your gpa and take some extra cirriculars. It doesn’t look like you have any and sometimes, they can make or break your acceptance chances. I would say that hofstra will be your toughest admission

@osanilevich all EC/hook info is in the linked thread.

Low Reach - Match for all them

@thatdude32710 but for which ones?

An 1800 on the SAT would probably guarantee admission to all of these universities. All are matches right now.

@Dagiehead thank you! That’s what I hope to get! :)

I played Intercounty soccer in 8th and 9th grade. Would you consider this to be an extracurricular?

Bentley and Hofstra are mid reaches. All of the others are match/safety. You should look at Syracuse! You’d be at least competitive there.

@tegauntt Syracuse is a pretty big reach, and unfortunately does not have my major.

Hofstra is a high match, especially if you live on Long Island.

@DavidWithAD I live in NJ, but I’d hope that it’s still only a high match, especially because the average GPA of students they accepted from my school in the last five years is only a 3.02 UW; the lowest they’ve accepted EA is a 2.58. Plus, they’ve admitted 68% of students from my school, compared to 59% overall.
