Quitting an extracurricular

I'm on my high school color guard team. We participate in activities and shows with the marching band. I'm a sophomore, and I've been in guard for the past two years. However, this past season was terrible. Our co-captains never got along. Granted, one of them is a senior, so she won't be on the team next year, but the other one is my best friend. So, I always hear about her complaints of the stress of being a captain. She is a very emotional person and it stresses me out to have her yelling at me about not understanding. I think it hurts our friendship for us to both be on color guard. So, that's one of my reasons for wanting to quit. My second would be that it's just not fun anymore. I love color guard, but it takes up a lot of my time and I get very stressed out from it because there is always some kind of drama. Being on the team doesn't make me happy anymore.
My third is that I don't trust our band director's judgement. Everyone in band tends to be very fake and I feel like I'm stuck in a box with all of them. Like, I can't change when I'm in band.
My fourth is that band takes up a lot of time. It takes away all of my Friday nights, my Saturdays, 3 hours on Tuesday and Thursdays.
My question is....will it hurt my college applications to quit? Like, will it look bad for me to only have two years of guard, and two years of another sport? I'm just not quite sure and I don't want to quit and then regret it. Pleaseeeee help :)

Quit.
You can buff up your resume with other ECs.
Join something else you want to explore.
You will have so much free time you won’t know what to do with yourself.
You will have to make a new set of friends.
Your grades should get better, your SAT scores should be stellar and you will have all kinds of time to research colleges.
Don’t mope around the house complaining about nothing to do, no friends and you are bored.
Get a job if you don’t join a sport, clubs or volunteer to fill your time.

What Batllo said. If the cons outweigh the pros that much, it’s not worth it. If you love guard that much though, there are other drum corps organizations that offer color guard spots (look into DCA (but not DCI lol) and see if you can do that)

Thank you  I don’t think I’ll be returning for a third season.
