Quitting orchestra senior year?

I’m a junior in my school’s IB program and I’m planning on taking Math and Physics HL next year. I’m principal cellist in my school’s orchestra and have been since freshman year, but the new directors this year made it really boring. Plus, all my friends are seniors and graduating. The directors are trying to bribe me to stay with a solo next year in our program, but the entire reason I joined was to have fun playing. One of them is really guilt tripping me, and I’m not sure what to do anymore. I’m probably going to need the spare time next year, and I have other extracurriculars like piano, mariachi, a literary magazine, and some STEM related stuff. I’m just really lost; I know next year is going to be stressful so I want to make it as painless as possible. Any advice is appreciated!!

If you no longer enjoy it and don’t plan to play in college, then I say do what you want to do.
