<p>I'm so confused. I'm a Chinese female, but I've recently heard that Asians are at a disadvantage in SAT scores because college admission officers have a higher standard for Asians. Despite the statistics, many colleges still deny this. There's a huge debate over whether race counts, such as how (in comparison to white people) Asians get it hard and all other minorities, especially blacks and Hispanics, get it easier. There's something called Affirmative Action that's also confusing to me. I've also read often that it's like the top colleges and universities "want to have diversity" but consistently have the same percentage of minorities, despite swelling numbers of these races in the U.S.</p>
<p>I'm not saying that I believe all this; actually, this thread is to clarify whether this is true and what the facts really are. Could someone clear up this strange debate? Resources would be helpful!</p>
