oh my god you guys are literally raging homos.
99% of america’s schools don’t have such good food as that.
just stop your whining, accept it, and, above all, appreciate it and how your school actually has the money to get food to do these themes if anything.

No, it’s not an insult. Either is “overachiever” (at least not in my mind) or “illegal immigrant” (although it certainly has negative connotations to some people, even in the far left that’s pretty much how it is).

Thank you for saying it better than I did.

Why didn’t they just call it “Soul Food Day”? Seriously. Lol.

Except it really isn’t soul food. It isn’t nearly as fried as it should be.

I can’t think of a legit reason that a high school would serve something as random as ** collard greens. ** I was a cashier for 8 months and I think I rang up collard greens maybe 5 times, and it was for a black person every time.

^Collard Greens made right are the bee’s knees, and I’m jewish, enough said. That school gets actually realistic food. We get fake nachos, fake pizza, fake hamburgers, fake blah. I bring my lunch, and it costs less to make real food lunch than buy it at my school.

At least you dont get fake mcdonalds snack wraps

Oh, we do on occasion. LOL. We’ve gotten random stuff too like chicken wings and faux-subway.

I loled so hard when I read this.

^ Aight now that someone else said it, I thought this was ****ing hilarious also.

I was underwhelmed…
I was expecting an overtly racist meal, like Fried chicken, grape soda, watermelon (ALL OF WHICH ARE DELICIOUS!!!)

I can’t say I’ve had kool-aid out of a bottle since kindergarten.

I don’t find it so bad. Now if they had watermelon and KFC or some other completely stereotyped food for African-Americans then I would be VERY angry. But as it is I don’t really see it as racist.

^ collard greens, corn bread, and baked chicken are all steryotyped for african americans.

^It’s actually fried chicken, but I liked how they attempted to make it not racist by saying baked, breaded chicken and school made corn muffins. xD

As an “African American” I find this thread quite interesting. Am I offended? Not necessarily. Do I think this was the smartest move they could’ve done? No. But am I laughing right now? Absolutely lol :)

How many black people actually eat fried chicken as a significant part of their diet? I’m actually a little curious on this point now.

^^^^Yeah but they aren’t the stereotypical stereotype if you know what I mean. lol

That’s why I said that it’d be worse if it had Watermelon or Koolaid.

Pardon me, I only skimmed through the topic other than the first post, so I must have missed that.
