Hello everyone, I am currently a student at a community college in New Jersey. I will be transferring soon (yay!) and brought the decisions between you two schools. I love Ramapo the campus seems great and at first it was the only one for me. Now I am also looking at TCNJ. They have great programs, a football team (I like watching it), and are not a commenter school. Can anyone tell me what they feel about one or both colleges? Thanks
academically, TCNJ way way tougher school.
Yeah! That is one things I like about it. I visited yesterday (TCNJ) and it looks great I am a honor student with a GPA of 3.67. I think I could get in. This is so tough!!
that being the case the choice is easy. TCNJ
My cousin went to TCNJ and my boyfriend went to Ramapo, so I guess I’m a fairly good place for information. I almost went to TCNJ myself, but I decided to go to a different school out of state. Anyway, TCNJ has rigorous academics, a great reputation, and a fairly busy social life. My cousin was involved in Greek Life there. However, there isn’t much to do off-campus in the surrounding area (Ewing/Trenton).
Ramapo is much smaller, and is located way up north in Mahwah, NJ, a short distance from Sussex County’s beautiful national parks and New York City. Campus is gorgeous. I applied to Ramapo and got the impression that it was a suitcase school and many people commuted (I was looking to have the full college experience so I declined to go there). Still, my boyfriend said he had a great experience there.
Overall, I think TCNJ > Ramapo
Hope this helps!
