1) How many years of work experience are applicants usually expected to accumulate after college?

2) For anyone who has undergone business school interviews, have you ever been asked to describe what you like to do outside the classroom? (for example: extra curricular's)

3) I constantly hear about IB jobs and I'm assuming this is because you can make a lot of money relatively quickly, but I want to know if there are other positions in business that are just as accessible and make similiar amounts.

1) minimum of 2, average is about 5 at any good MBA program

2) Yes I have been asked what I enjoy besides work. This was rare and not a very important topic. I usually laugh and ask them "what free time?" They're more interested in your work experience as the core base, however they probably will ask a question or 2 of what you do in your free time.

3) an associate in MC for the top 3 yields pretty big year end bonuses. Other than that, I would say any job right out of college that makes you work 80+ a week would pay well (they would have to). I cant think about many things off the top of my head... i'm sure someone will chime in here.

Thaks for your response. I just thought of another question though. Do business related jobs you get right after college to accumulate work experience generally pay well (i.e. is it unreasonable to hope you will make 50k+)?

depends on what line of work you get. the big Ibanker or MC (management consultant) for Bain/BCG/McKinsey/etc make around 100-120ish... but then again they work 80+ a week.

My job out of college started at 48 and had set pay increases over 3 years (was in a corporate training program) at the end i was around 72 a year and only working 50 hours a week.
