woahh they're losing dorman and deviney...housing just got that much more competitive.

I suspect they will do it one at a time. And with the fact they are taking 1000 less freshman compared to prior years, there have been plenty of rooms still available this past fall, and even more spring with students moving around. My D is in Gilchrist. Her roommate moved off campus, one suite-mate left FSU and the other suite-mate moved in with another student in a lower Gilchrist floor. She is the only one in her 2 room suite. (No complaints here--her good friend from HS is across the hall and she has a sorority house full of sisters.) I think that now is the time. Do it one by one while freshman enrollment is still 1000 less students.

An update. They are actually planning on adding a third building to Wildwood, which I suspect will happen before Dorman and Diviney are gone. I suspect Wildwood III will be up before one of the D's comes down. That way, no actual beds are lost. It may mean that there is Wildwood building III and one new dorm in place of D&D. The International House (#117), an old house, is coming down for W III. And a new maintenance complex is going up on Lake Bradford Rd, and when it comes down, that space will be for new classrooms, and among other things a NEW STUDENT UNION!

A new union? Caramba, I'll hardly recognize the place. ;)
