^^^i have a kia sportage but dont know the mileage and was wondering if i could drive roughly 33 miles on a quarter tank of gas (not on a highway...mostly country roads)---i'm clueless about stuff like that--new to driving, so you'll have to forgive me lol. If so, would I be cutting it close, or would there still be gas left over? Thanks!

How many gallons your tank holds would be a crucial bit of information in this situation.

you should be ok, but you should probably get another gallon or two in the morning, just in case.

is it your new E class in which you have your quarter tank of gas?

2009 Kia Sportage gets 310 miles per tank of gas. Assuming that’s a vast overestimate, you’re probably still good.

If only the government would stop giving billions of dollars to Auto companies and using some of that money to make the Tesla Roadster or the future Tesla Model S cost about $20,000 instead of the $100,000 and $50,000 (respectively) they cost now and we’d never have to worry about filling a tank. It would cost about $5 to charge up your battery to go 250 miles, within 3 hours that is, which can be done as soon as you get back home or back from work. Of course you’d still need a gas powered car to travel long distances, but that problem can be cured by using hydrogen instead of gasoline, but all hydrogen does is have hydrogen atoms go through a fuel cell and create electricity, so a hydrogen car that has an electric battery would be perfect!

But on topic, yes any normal car should be able to travel 33 miles on a quarter of a tank. Just accelerate very slowly and keep a steady foot and your gas mileage will increase overall.

As long as you’re not really fat you should be fine. But it’s not good for your fuel pump to be driving low on gas.
