*Is it necessary to have a laptop, especially if I am taking Intro to computer sciences? I know u can rent a laptop from the library and use it there for awhile or use the computer labs, so can I get by without a laptop for awhile or would it be more beneficial to spend the money on a new laptop?

No, it’s not necessary to have a laptop but I would say it is necessary to have a computer. You will need it to complete online coursework, tests, quizzes, homework, keeping track of finances and plenty of daily living things such as checking email. A computer I would say is necessary. A laptop, no. There are a lot of computer to use for free around the school. The library has computers and each college seems to have a computer lab. You can try that out and see how it works.

*Do the buses around campus cost any money? Also, how much is it for the buses that take you around town like to the grocery store? I can’t bring my car, so im gonna be taking the bus every where.

The buses don’t cost money. The local buses are the LYNX buses and you can look up times and costs on their website. Don’t worry about not having a car, plenty of students I know haven’t had cars and got along just fine. You may want to make friends though that have one. :)

*What is flex bucks? Where do you get them, how do you use them, what do they cost??

Flex bucks are a waste of money honestly. Basically, you convert cash to flex bucks and then can only spend them on campus, where everything is slightly more expensive! Don’t do them. You’ll end up wasting a lot of money.

*Does anyone know if parking for early move-in day free like on regular move-in day??

No, I don’t think it is free. I was moving out a few weeks out on the regular move out day and the parking police were total jerks! Be careful. UCF parking is all about making money, not helping students.

*Is there a place to print papers and does it cost anything or should I bring my own
printer?

Only the Honors College offers free printing and you must be an Honors student. Otherwise, I think it costs .10 cents per page at most of the computer labs and either you won’t be able to do color or it will cost more.

*Where are some good places to look for a job?

Look around campus. Great job recommendations are tutoring for ASSA, working at the on campus restaurants, work in the book store, etc.
