I am personally guilty of the selfie from above and off center- but hey, I have chins to hide!
I think that pose is a modern version of the way young women were taught to stand in finishing school or by their cotillion leaders in the last century. It has to do with (as is said above) lengthening the line, and putting the weight on the back leg (as it were) also helps with making the front leg look slimmer.
I have a priceless candid my mom took of me lining up for some kindergarten play, in which you can see my beloved kindergarten teacher, who was most definitely a charm school grad, striking the '60s version of that pose.
Also called the KFC pose - 2 breasts and a thigh
At the risk of being a typical dense male, are we talking about, using an example, the Angelina Jolie 2012 red carpet Oscar pose?

Yep. This one is nothing new, though it’s less demure than its earlier versions. The sorority squat (what @VeryHappy is talking about) or KFC pose (love that, @GRITS80) actually is different.
Too many recipes I want to make call for one cup or less of buttermilk. I’ ve only seen buttermilk sold in quarts, so what do you do with the rest of the buttermilk?
You can freeze leftover buttermilk for up to 3 months.
You can also use a buttermilk substitute: https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/buttermilk-substitute/
Or try powdered buttermilk.
Perfect! Thanks, @doschicos!!
Drink it?
I just drink it.
I’m lactose intolerant. So I don’t drink milk in general – in coffee, yes, but not in general.
@VeryHappy You can also buy powdered but then you have to keep that. If you don’t use it frequently, I would go with the adding vinegar.
Cultured milk products are substantially lower in lactose than milk. Some hard cheeses are practically lactose-free. But if one does not like the taste of buttermilk (I do, but some detest the taste), no need to force yourself to drink it.
I use it to make French toast.
Random question. Can someone point me in the direction of a thread here on CC about the sentence for Felicity Huffman? I know there must be something but I can’t find anything and I’m curious to know CC thoughts.
At the end of this long thread. Not much commentary yet on the sentencing.
Thanks @doschicos - I’m surprised!
14 days in the pound and a 30 grand fine. Our local paper has it on the front page!
I’m late on the buttermilk, but fyi it keeps a LONG time, way past the stated date, at least for cooking purposes. I use it for pancakes but not much else.
For buttermilk, my grandmother used to mix milk or cream and lemon juice.
