What is the best way to get to Santorini from Athens?

Boy do I agree about that Ocean Spray recipe, have used it since forever. Sometimes add walnuts, sometimes not. It makes a nice gift. (I sometimes make it in my small springform.) And freezes well.

@Nhatrang - I have no experience with Santorini/Athens. But I have had good luck with this website for travel ideas (first pass research) for various countries - https://www.rome2rio.com/

Thanks so much!

I’ve gone back three pages trying to figure out which Ocean Spray recipe, @lookingforward. Can you post which recipe you’re referring to? Somehow I missed it.

It’s on the bag of Ocean Spray cranberries. Doschicos mentioned it.

I’ve always used oil rather than shortening. Often, less sugar. Sometimes, more orange peel. Have never made it as a loaf. Don’t overbake. (If you’re not using a loaf pan, you need to adjust that time. Try the toothpick.) Doschicos’s idea of lemon zest sounds great.

Wondering how similar this is to the Good Housekeeping, @bookworm .

^^thank you!

I use real butter in that recipe, softened. I also leave out the nuts in mine.

I use an (Android) app called “Highway Weather”. You put in the route and it tells you what’s going on weatherwise along the way, and suggests the best time(s) to leave as well.

I tip housekeeping, especially in very low wage countries.

Audible app - though has a monthly fee I believe.

iTunes store probably has audio books too.

Like I said upthread, https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201964280.

If you have an Apple device:

Thanks to @marian and @OHMomof2 for the audio book advice. So far he doesn’t use Apple Books and I don’t want or the audible app, that I’m aware of, so I think that’s off my list for gift. (More trouble than it’s worth for 1 book).

@1214mom - did you mean me rather than Marion? Not interested in a Kindle ebook either? No cost for the app and you can just buy the book on Amazon.

@marilyn, yes… sorry @marion. I just decided he can choose whatever app he wants and deal with the book himself. He didn’t ask for it - I was just looking for an “easy” extra present. But he’s new to the Apple platform, and I don’t want to “pick the wrong thing” for him.
Thanks

I noticed when I purchased a Kindle book today, there is a gray tab on the right hand side that says “Buy for Others”.

Yes, as I’ve noted twice above, (including the link in #2991) you can buy a Kindle book for others.

How hot do the outsides of a freestanding electric oven get? (I’ve googled several variations of this question and nada).

I want to know if I can slide a narrow plastic shelving unit on wheels next to mine. I suppose I can heat it up and see, but wonder if anyone knows.

I know they sell protectors for the heat transfer to any adjoining cabinets. (Strips, that fit near the front. (Less concern about the more hidden parts, I guess.) You might call a mfr and ask the guidelines or suggestions. It can matter if there is space for air to circulate. Some heat damage takes time. Then one day, presto, a warped plastic unit.
