To turn off one click: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201889370

thanks @notrichenough the problem is, this page says there is a turn off everywhere button when I follow the link. In reality there is no turn it off everywhere button after I click the link on they provide.

Yeah, weird that their own help pages are wrong.

Two ideas, if you haven’t done these already:

  1. delete the credit card that is assigned as your "default" payment card, and then re-add it without making it the default. If you don't have a default payment card selected, you can't do one-click.
  2. contact customer support. I've had good luck with them in the past, although who knows how things are now.

Amazon may have changed things so that it’s impossible now (or maybe it was never possible) to not use 1-click on kindle purchases. It greatly simplifies things on the kindle where you don’t have full browser support to do a checkout process.

I need to send a set of keys in the mail. How can I do this without going to UPS, USPS, or FEDEX places? I don’t want to figure out weights either. Maybe just pay a flat rate and have them pick it up off the porch. Ideas?

You could put it in flat rate packaging (small box or flat rate envelope) and drop it off in a mailbox if it’s under 13 ounces. If it’s over, believe you have to use a USPS kiosk for at least $1 of your postage.

One stamp per ounce. Just mailed three masks and weighed them in the envelope on a good scale.

Signed in to USPS site, then ordered a free priority flat rate box and label. Going to try click and ship after I print a label and pay for a flat rate. Then, I’m going to schedule a free USPS pickup. All new to me.

Weight doesn’t matter for the flat rate services. That’s one reason why it’s so great!

You don’t have to weigh it, but don’t you pay as if it were the maximum allowed weight?

It’s the same fee regardless what it weighs. You have to use the post office’s small, medium (2 shapes), or large box and put your items in, 3 different fees depends on which box you chose.

Great for sending heavy items!

They also have flat rate envelopes and padded envelopes. I’m currently a big fan of the padded envelopes. Great for sending care packages without paying a ton for shipping.

International flat rate does have higher prices and weight limits.

If it’s just two flat keys- or sometimes 4 plus, I wouldn’t bother with a box, with keys rattling around.
Tape them between two 3x5 cards, stick then in a usual envelope.

Or use some heavier cardboard, cut to fit the envelope size, or light corrugated. Try it.

Then you can put on, say, 4 regular stamps.

But are you looking for tracking? I’d guess not, if you’re willing to leave it on the porch.

I just drop outgoing mail in a local blue mail box. Here, they’re all over.

Re mailing keys, I renewed our dogs’ licenses online. City mailed me the two tags in a long business envelope (Number 10), it was marked 65 cents for postage. A little lighter than keys, so I’d consider three or four Forever stamps being really on the safe side.

It’s not trackable, and the flate rate boxes are, though.

How many keys?

An average key weighs about .25 - .3 oz, so you could send 3-4 of them through 1st class mail in a regular envelope with one forever stamp.

If you want to tape them to cardboard, and are paranoid, use two forever stamps, which is good for up to 3.5 oz, (which is at least 10 keys).

Fob plus 2 keys. I think the box is safer.
The porch is not visible from the street. I think it will cost $8 with the free USPS small box up to 70 lb limit.

I agree, I would not send a fob in an envelope.

I have a question about filing an unemployment claim due to Covid 19. I live in FL and work as an independent contractor for an organization based in another state. They did not pay unemployment insurance to the state of FL, only to the state where they are located. If I file in FL, won’t they tell me that the company never paid them so I am unable to receive benefits?

When that applied to me, they had reciprocal agreements between states. It would be FL’s task to sort out.

Do you guys get the online gambling ads on CC? I kept closing the window but it pops right back up. They must think since people are home they are bore and more likely to gamble.
