No gambling options here, either. I use DuckDuckGo and Firefox. The Fun Police.
@Nhatrang does anyone else use your computer? A lot of times ads are based on what’s been googled or what sites have been visited on your computer.
I use an ad blocker so I never see any of that junk.
Ad blocker here also. I think I get about 1% of what someone without an ad blocker sees.
No one uses my computer but me, this is my work computer. How do I turn on the ad blocker?
You have to download and install an add-on.
What OS/browser do you use?
Google Ad Block for whatever browser you use, then install it. You’ll be amazed.
Don’t ever click on an unwanted ad. It signals interest.
Without an effective ad blocker (we had a lot of posts about this headache, not everyone found a solution there,) and by clicking, it lives on.
@Nhatrang you live in NJ? Big brother probably knows that.
I use AdBlock and it’s very effective. And easy to modify if I’m trying to see a page that requires me to disa
H was getting the same adds because he flipped on one. I think he cleared his history and cookies? not sure you can do that part. But he is careful now not to click on any adds.
Question about OneDrive (cloud storage):
I accidently copied a huge folder from my PC hard drive to OneCloud. Now I’m getting messages that my OneCloud storage is almost full. I want to delete the folder from just the OneCloud storage but when I started to do that I got a message asking me if I want to delete the folder. I’m afraid that if I click Yes, it will be deleted from my PC hard drive as well. Can someone reassure me that’s not the case?
@VeryHappy, I am not an expert, by any means, but can you check your computer hard drive to see that it is still there, that is that you put a copy on OneCloud, rather than moved it to OneCloud? If you are unsure, can you copy the file to an external hard drive/thumb drive first, then safely remove it from OneCloud?
If you put a copy on your computer then uploaded it to the cloud by deleting the cloud version should never delete the computer version. But if it’s that important as stated put it on a thumb drive for a “just in case” situation. Also for a learning experience.
Thanks @mominva and @knowsstuff. I saved them all on a thumb drive and deleted them from OneCloud. Luckily they were still on my hard drive after I did that.
I thought cloud storage was infinite. Apparently not.
Think you can pay for more storage. Don’t think its that expensive. But now you learned that they are just two different fancy hard drives. One is virtual and one is physical. Unless you pointed to delete both at the same time you would only delete the one your working on. Glad it worked out.

My mother gave D one of her rings, one that D loved. The ring is a bit small for D though, only fits on her little finger. She’d prefer to wear it on a chain/necklace (she might need to do that anyway given her profession). Any recommendations on what kind of chain/what style works best?
Where is the covid thread? Can someone send the link here please?
@Nhatrang it’s been shut down by the moderators. http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/2171687-coronavirus-in-the-us-p625.html
