Gone through that every single year with Serious

It’s really stupid, isn’t it.

I believe I have posted this before-I renew with SiriusXM every 6 months for both our cars. I pay $30 for 6 months plus fees which comes to $36 and change. I have been doing this with my car for 10 year, my husbands for 3; we have separate accounts. Years ago, I have to pay a $2 fee to pay by check instead of them having a credit card; they no longer charge for that.

The reason I don’t let them have a credit card as they were know to use autopay, which was at the current rate; usually about $16/month. It was next to impossible to get a special rate when a credit card was attached to the account. My kids have now learned their lesson, and do not give a credit card, and call for a special rate. I am proud of my negotiating skills!

good to know. We never use autopay for anything.

H does the same thing with SiriusXM every 6 months. $5/mo is worth it to us. We are willing to walk because we have options via bluetooth.

He does this annually with everything: cable, cell provider, local newspaper (I know, we’re dinosaurs – but both like the printed version), probably more. Almost always gets a better deal than the rollover plan.

My former boss (80’s) died in January. I found out yesterday from a former colleague who also did not know until his wife told him at a social setting. He was a very prominent figure from his profession to school board to family tree. I had heard several years ago he suffered from dementia. I’m trying to figure out why there was not a death notice or obit. Just odd. Have you ever heard of this?

If there was no funeral, it’s possible that the family didn’t place a public obituary and are waiting to do an announcement when they can have a memorial service.

Where does one even put an obituary or death notice these days that would be widely seen?

I know virtually no one that gets a physical newspaper any more. I read several newspapers on-line and have never thought to check to see if they have obituary sections.

Our local paper does. A former coworker passed after a brief battle with cancer. Googling “name + obituary” brought up the memorial page.

Respectfully, after a funeral question I have a totally not critical question …

I have a half a pound of hamburger to use up in something for dinner. Don’t want Mexican or Italian or soup. Had stuffed peppers earlier in the week.

Ideas??

Yes, the memorial page for that former coworker was not up until the memorial service plans were known.

Are you up for making dumplings?

I would say no not tonight! Something easy peasy … at least in prep time

Chili?

Cheeseburgers, meatloaf , nachos?

Guess I’m looking for NOT the obviously answers because I’m already ruled out the obvious answers! Lol…

I think I’m tired of all food!

I’m thinking about a ground beef and mushroom stroganoff of sorts…

Grilled Beef Kafta Kebabs

This is one my husband’s favorite dishes with a greek salad, warm pita, and tzatziki or garlic tahini.
