So I'm choosing between these 5 schools: NYU (Stern school), WashU (olin), UC Berkeley, UCLA, and USC and I was just wondering how people would rank these in terms of prestige (it's not that that's how I'm going to choose but I just want to see what people think of these 5 schools in terms of prestige)

uc berkeley

washu

usc

nyu

ucla

you would put ucla last? that’s interesting. i was just wondering: what part of the US are you from? because i’m from california so i think that may be why I find ucla to be just as prestigious as berkeley

Wash u, UCLA, NYU, ucberkely, USC.

UCLA is last. USC is considered better. UC Berkeley is generally considered better than UCLA just because its Berkeley.

Wash U is interesting. Even though its so selective, its never really considered at least mid-level Ivy in terms of prestige. idk why.

hmm, that’s interesting. what does everyone think about the mantra for usc: “university of spoiled children”? do you think it’s pretty accurate? is it still a stereotype for today?

besides that, I want to major in business: which school do you think would be the best for me? I really have no preference as for college/city life. I just want a good program!

My opinion
- UC berkley
- NYU (Stern…but only because it’s stern…)
- Wash u
- UCLA
- USC

The stereotype is flawed and based upon a stigma that is decades old.

In terms of prestige,

UCB > UCLA = USC > Wash U > NYU

I’m pretty sure you can’t do Haas first year. Don’t you need to apply to it later on?

I think you should go to Stern. Stern and NYU is kinda like Wharton and UPenn. They have a separate prestige factor.

Berkeley (Haas)

NYU (Stern), WUSTL (Olin)

UCLA

USC

Here’s my opinion:
- WashU
- UCLA
- Berkeley
- USC
- NYU

UCLA> UCB>Wash U>USC>NYU. UCLA is more selective than berkely, and the difference is only going to grow in the future.

1.UC Berkeley
2. USC
3.NYU
4.UCLA
5.WASHINGTON

UCLA is know for its sports while UCB is more well know for its Academics.

I can’t imagine any 5 other schools with such disparate opinions (with so many getting it wrong). But the suspense is over…

… and the correct answer is:

Wash U

USC

Berkeley

UCLA

NYU

Thanks for playing and have a safe trip home, and don’t foget to tip your waitresses.

1) Wash U
2) UCB
3) NYU Stern
4) UCLA
5) USC

1) UC Berkeley
2) NYU
3) USC
4) Wash U
5) UCLA

Are you from southern California? Seems some people there think higher of UCLA than the rest of the country.

yeah, i’m from central california (san jose) so we think of ucla and berkeley as being on the same level, with ucla > usc.
it’s interesting how everyone has such different answers though! a lot of people ranked nyu below wash u but I was wondering how you would rank them in terms of business. i’ve heard nyu stern is phenomenal (although there’s no way i can afford it - i’ll have to pay 50,000 a year). how do haas, usc’s marshall school, and wash u’s olin school compare?

Haas

Olin

Marshall

wow i’m having such difficulty choosing which college to go to though. i’ve narrowed it down to wash u, ucb, and ucla. nyu is way too expensive & i don’t really like usc’s neighborhood. which of the 3 would be the best? (not just in terms of business - i also want to do some study abroad programs & I eventually want to go into law school so which would prepare me the best for that?)
