rank my list

Ok i will post the list of schools i'm applying and would like tha you guys rank it as the best(academically). My major:undecided
University of Pittsburgh
U of Washington
University of Colorado Boulder
UT austin
Vanderbilt University Emory university
Vassar College
USC
Northwestern
Mizzou
Indiana University Bloomington
UNC-chapell hill
Mcgill university(canada)

Need more info about you and what you are looking for..............
You have U of W and Vasser on the same list, but very different schools.

I don't think you should think in terms of "best" academcially. You'll almost surely have more intimate contact with professors at a smaller LAC like Vassar than at a larger research university. But you'll have many more courses to choose from at a bigger school. Some of the schools stress international study, internships, and service learning--are those important to you or not? You might get to have a class with a Nobel laureate at an elite research university, but you could be doing cutting edge research with a less well known professor at one of the smaller schools. Without a major, a huge variable is out of the calculation. And this list could go on . . . it depends on what you're looking for in your 4 years of education.

Depends on the department, but overall I'd rank Northwestern first. Next Chapel Hill.

Thank you guys!!The reason why i'm asking this is because i don't know if i will be accepted on my top choices(Northwestern , USC, Vandy,Emory) so i would like to know how good are the others.
I have a 3.4gpa 33ACT from Brazil and applying as a tranfer.
Major i'm not sure so a school well rounded would be good.
Just for info.I made this list based of good values colleges(public universities) and private university

The U of Washington has just about everything for an undecided; is a diverse, large public university in a beautiful medium sized city, Seattle...........much to offer, including great nearby skiing, hiking, sailing and a fair bit of overcast days and drizzle. You get 4 seasons without the harshest of winter;
I am from warm southern cal and was able to easily adapt to the climate.

With 33 ACT you will get in your top choices:

Ranking-wise:

Northwestern
Emory university
Vanderbilt University
Vassar College
UNC-chapell hill
Mcgill university(canada)
USC
UT austin
Indiana University Bloomington
U of Washington
University of Pittsburgh
University of Colorado Boulder
Mizzou

i think UW is better than IU

For a multi-disciplinary university suitable for a transfer student without specific educational goals, I might cluster them like this:

Northwestern, USC, Vanderbilt

UW, UT, UNC,

Pitt, IU

Colorado, Missouri

I don't know much about: McGill, Emory
The one thing that is not like the other things: Vassar
