Rank these 5 UD Bio classes

Doing my 4 year plan and in my Junior year I would like to take BIBC102 (metabolic biochem), BIBC100 (structural biochem), BICD110 (cell biology), BIMM100 (molecular bio), and BIPN100 (mamm phys1).
If anyone can rank these 5 classes from easiest to hardest and possibly give a few reasons why it was the easiest/hardest for you(for example, how much is straight up memorize&regurgitate, how much extra reading is needed, how interesting is it, how easy is it to get an A, etc.) that would be awesome! Also, which ones do you recommend taking together in a quarter (I plan to do 2 per quarter)?
Thanks in advance if you help me out!! :D

I’ve only taken BIBC102 and BIMM100. BIBC102 required more work because it’s straight up memorization of all the pathways, but the A is pretty much given to you if you put in the effort. BIMM100 reminded me a little of genetics (BICD100) in that it was more problem solving based and required synthesis of material. I didn’t read for either class and both were interesting :)

Schedule wise, you have to take either BIBC100 or BIBC102 before you can take BIMM100 and BICD110, so that’s something to keep in mind. I know a few people that did BIBC100 and BIMM100 together and they found the work manageable.

I hear BIBC 100 and 102 were the easier ones. I’ve already taken 102 and agree with what momosky wrote. I heard BIMM 100 is easy at first because it seems to be a review of genetics, but studying is required later in the quarter (so also easy?). I heard BICD110 is one of the most difficult bio courses. Mamm phys has a lot of studying required. I haven’t taken it, but heard it’s pretty difficult.

1/2. BIBC100 and 102
3. BIMM 100
4. BICD110
5. BIPN100

Mix and match any 2, except don’t take BICD 110 and BIPN100 at the same time.

This is how I would rank them easiest to hardest (of those I took and who I took them with).

BIPN 100 (Kristan)

BIBC 102 (Coleman)

BIMM 100 (Lykke-Anderson)

BICD 110 (Wilhelm and Forbes)

BIPN 100: I didn’t find this class overly difficult. There is a lot to memorize but I didn’t feel like there was as much as people made it out to be. Otherwise I felt it was very similar to BILD 2.

BIBC 102: This class definitely requires a lot of memorization but I didn’t feel like the material was difficult. It was just a lot to know.

BIMM 100: This class is kind of in-between difficult and easy. Either way, it’s still quite a bit of material to know and involves problem solving.

BICD110: This class isn’t easy. It’s a lot to know and a lot to apply. I took it with both Wilhelm and Forbes and I definitely recommend Forbes over Wilhelm. Forbes is great. Wilhelm is meh.

As far as enjoying the classes, BIPN 100 and BIBC 102 I enjoyed for the most part. BIMM 100 and BICD 110 I really didn’t like much at all. BICD 110 with Forbes was A LOT more enjoyable than Wilhelm though. BIMM 100 was probably the least interesting material and BIPN 100 the most interesting material in my opinion.

As far as which to take together, it’s hard to say. They all require a similar amount of reading but I would guess the easier the class the less studying you would need. So it’s really up to you. Maybe you’ll get an idea of what you think would be best based on our advice. Otherwise, I don’t really know.

It’s also fair to note that your experience with another professor may be very different that what I said so that’s just something to keep in mind. I would recommend all of those professors but definitely Forbes over Wilhelm.

Thank you momosky, Radishrp and KingsElite!! All of your advice have been extremely helpful and I will definitely take them into consideration when I enroll in classes
Also, have any of you taken BIBC103 (biochemical techniques)? What is that class like and is it similar to chem7l?
