Rank these business Majors

I guess for now I am going to go with management for sure, then its either going to be finance, accounting, or MIS. Its not like I'll be stuck with these majors later, nor am I going to be taking classes toward these majors in my first semester so I'll just take it easy and really make a choice later. I just think IT companies are pretty awesome, from the management side of it, bidding, picking up contracts, and working towards efficiency. I'll just have to see later after I understand everything more.

Finance over business adm... The economics major is in social sciences instead of business, their department is weaker than business but nevertheless everyone is doing it. I wasn't interested by economics in high school, but should I suck it up and choose that major because of its diversity?

Overall, finance is the most diversified major in the business fields other than econ. If I were you, I would do finance.

name one job that a finance major can get but an accounting major can not.

Can anyone give a clue what we will study in MIS? A mix of computer science and management?

311Griff: Accounting majors almost never get Investment Banking Jobs because about 75% of IB recruitment at any school is from finance and then management and marketing and etc....very few or no accounting majors. LMAO you do the math yourself.

good one, can business admin majors get ibanking jobs?

Yes, almost all undergrad business students recieve a BBA I think, but this is more major related. So yes.

MIS students usually take a bunch of business courses... international business, marketing, management, accounting, finance, human resources, etc.. and then some computer stuff as well such as maybe networking, programming, etc.. probably about a 60/40 split.

Im talking about just a general bus admin degree not a BBA in say finance but a BSBA

^yeah definitely, but most of the time from what the case is, is that they recruit finance majors, but business administration BSBA is definitely another top runner.

Pre-med in your opinion would it be better to

Get a BSBA and take a lot of electives, probably would get me the highest GPA (which will be useful because I want to go to graduate school)

Get a BS in Finance, take less electives and a few more classes I won't be interested in. That may make my GPA a bit lower but Im thinking it may be worth it to increase job oppurtunities?

Double major in both, but the downside would be I wont get to take as many elective classes. So my learning will not be as broad as I would like.

anyone anyone?

cmon pre med ... iknow u got an answer

Accounting
Finance
General Business Administration
BA- Marketing
BA- International Business
BA- Management of Information systems
BA- Entrepeneurship

hm....
1. Finance/Accounting
2. BA
3. Everything Else....
at least in my opinion.

but would it benefit me to double major in both BA and Finance or just do finance?

Depends on what you want to do. It may not help a lot, but it can't hurt you.

If you know you either want to go into Ibanking Mgmt Consulting or Law
would it be worth 12 hours of electives to double major in both Finance and Business adm?

For management consulting, yes.
For investment banking, no.
For law, no. Undergraduate business is overkill for law unless you want to go into corporate law and are sure of it.

if i want to go into management consulting or IB...i honestly have no idea...

pick 2 out of the three....MIS, finance, Business admin

i don't see Economics in any of u guys' lists, is it that bad of a major?
