Fugliest student body:

I’ll edit my top 20:

Harvard, Stanford, MIT

Princeton

Yale, Berkeley, Caltech

Northwestern, JHU, UPenn, Columbia, Duke

Cornell, Michigan, Rice, Chicago

Mudd, Williams, Amherst

CMU, Georgia Tech, Swarthmore, UVA

from my orientation, yes. I didn’t even consider Yale, quite honestly, as I was applying for computer science, back then, and Berkeley is so much better than Yale for comsci, whether you agree with me or not. So, if there’s anything ridiculous here–it’s your comment.

RML - No Dartmouth in the top 20?

^ no Dartmouth and no Brown in my personal list. it’s just my personal list.

No order ( just top 15 listed), base on education etc… ( and some guidance from USNEWS since I couldn’t possibly dig up all the information myself in a short time):

Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Pennslyvania, Stanford, Swarthmore, Columbia, Duke, Chicago, Dartmouth, Cornell, Washington University in St.Louis, Massachuettes Insititute of Technology, Brown, New York University

If I had to give an ideal of my ranking, it would be:

fugliest CC screennames

tortilinguist

2hot4u

vinnyli

dmvmom

stuckbisquit

snappl80

twisteddad

dubyalvr

crumblsonimpact

gitwittaprogram

I think my screen name is a bit underrated. It should be ranked at number 2, at least lol. And that list of ugly student body wasn’t by me, btw. It was by college pr_owler.

I’ll limit it to 10, since that’s all you’re asking for. Not tiered, just a list that pairs together similar schools.

Yale
Princeton

Stanford
Notre Dame

Columbia

Georgetown

Dartmouth
Williams

Brown
Amherst

that’s okay. i made up most of the names. :p

I saw someone say “AWSP” for LACs, but I would suggest the more memorable “WASP”. Not saying Williams is better but WASP sounds much better than AWSP.

^^ Sounds kinda WASPY though.

^^^Is that a bad thing?

Harvard/ Yale/ Princeton
MIT/ Caltech
Columbia/ Dartmouth/ Amherst/ Williams/ Brown/ Penn

Stanford and Notre Dame together? Georgetown on the list. You must have some Catholic/Jesuit thing going on.

Harvard
Stanford
Yale
Prince
MIT
Williams
Amherst
Columbia
Pomona
Penn

Princeton
MIT
Stanford
Harvard
Dartmouth
Yale
Swarthmore
Brown
Amherst
Caltech

It’s difficult to make this list because I believe the best schools are often those that are most polarized towards a particular area, so some of these schools lean towards opposite directions but they are common in that most of them lean in some direction.

My top 10 personally, for undergrad.

Princeton
MIT
Yale
Stanford
Chicago
Swarthmore
Dartmouth
Williams
Amherst
Columbia

I also admire Deep Springs quite a lot and almost applied, but it was excluded since its curriculum is not comparable to other universities…

I excluded Caltech because (again, in my opinion) a truly great college should be able to offer education in diverse fields.

"I’ll limit it to 10, since that’s all you’re asking for. Not tiered, just a list that pairs together similar schools.

Yale

Stanford
Notre Dame

Columbia

Georgetown

Dartmouth
Williams

Brown
Amherst"

Some of these pairings are ODD (pun intended), to say the least.

Kind of insulting to Stanford, IMHO.

Except for the fact that they play football against each other yearly, Stanford and Notre Dame have almost nothing in common.

Also, Brown seems more “hippy slacker,” whereas Amherst seems more “preppy jock.”

Amherst
Carleton
Chicago
Dartmouth
Harvard
Northwestern
Princeton
Stanford
Washington U
Williams
