How would you guys rate Emory for IB assuming one takes advantage of all the resources a student has available to them i.e getting a high GPA, networking, ect. I know its not Havard, Wharton, ect, but ive seen this school get mentioned as having a chance even if its slim for IB which is most likely better than other non-target schools. Anyone have any info on this school.

I would also be interested in how Emory places for IBD, S&T, and quant roles.

Anyone? What majors are even available at Emory for IB beside Economic.

Emory has Goizueta, so you could do a business degree

Emory is maybe a semi-target at best on Wall Street.

[Goizueta Business School - Undergraduate BBA](http://www.goizueta.emory.edu/degree/undergra_career_companies.html)

turns out all the BBs recruit there and then some

Would it be better to get an Econ with Math degree or a BBA w/ Finance concentration at Emory?

Goizueta is a 5-star UG business school, so I’d pick the BBA

It’s “all the BBs” minus UBS and Deutsche. Even then it might not be for NYC.

I-banking is about relationships. Without relationships, I-banks flounder.

When BB I-banks recruit a kid from Harvard, they typically don’t care what he studied at all. They want to see he is willing to work hard, socially normal, and most importantly, well-connected. Being a Harvard alum opens doors, which facilitates business/political relationships, which an ibank cannot do without.

Coming from Emory, it assumed you won’t be well-connected. So long story short, Emory is nowhere-ville.

Check out the following link.

[Brown and Cornell are Second Tier - Percolator - The Chronicle of Higher Education](http://chronicle.com/blogs/percolator/brown-and-cornell-are-second-tier/27565)

^^Anyone who knows anything about banking knows that article is absurd. With that said, landing NYC from Emory will probably be very difficult.

I heard the BB’s were nowhere to be found at Emory this year

This is a black-and-white fallacy. Yes, Harvard/Yale/Princeton give you very strong connections, Emory still does give you good connections in the same way that decent schools like Brown and Cornell give you good connections.

Emory may not be your best choice (it’s not as strong as Duke), but it is better than say Georgia Tech or UGA.
