I thought you were Asian-American? (Do they extend membership to other minorities as well, maybe?)

i'm a little mixed on my opinion.

your high school grades are pretty good and you have good high school extracurriculars and since you are a freshman transferring for sophomore year they'll look more into your high school stats. i had a 3.8 gpa at a university as an honors student transferring as a second semester sophomore and was rejected.

however (not to be harsh) since you do attend a community college you should've gotten a 4.0 for serious considerance.

if they weigh it 60% high school and 40% college then i'd say you have a 25% shot. good luck

however i checked the stats of two cornell transfers accepted spring '09 on here and they all had excellent extracurrics and 4.0's, which is pretty harsh competition

well iono if this helps but this is what i am taking next semester (18 credits total)
Cal2
Chem2
Bio1
English writing and research
Physic with cal base

then during the summer im taking Bio2 (4 more credits)

yes i am asian american, i joined that club because my friend wanted me to break the cycle of the idea that it was an onli black club

...interesting...

BTW, that's a very unique spelling of "onli" you have there.

SO an suggestion of improving my chances?

bump bump bump bump

You have a chance but it's not nearly a sure bet. If you want to improve your chances of getting in, wait another semester and 4.0 it. BTW, what are your SAT/ACTs? They won't hold huge value at this point, but if they are high it can still help.

i think you might have a shot, but i am a bit more wary about your ec's than most people in this thread...lots of your ec's are athletic, which is nice, but i don't think will carry the amount of weight academic ec's do unless you plan on playing seriously at cornell...the other ec's kind of look like fillers, i don't see any leadership positions or anything that is at all related to your major???? that could be big...work on making yourself stand out, you can bet most other applicants to cornell are

does submitting SAT scores hurt ur chances?

How would that be the case? It would if they're bad, but it'll help if they're good.

I personally think that you should wait until next year and pick up that GPA.

I agree with Grey. Also, get some intersting ECs to fill out your application. People transferring to Cornell are all going to have good grades, so compelling ECs often determine who gets in.
