Awesome extra curriculars! But by themselves, they won’t get you into a top school.
Far more important, will be the academic rigor of your curriculum, your gpa, and your ACT/SAT scores.
How are your grades?
Great ECs
@MaryGJ I screwed up freshman year and as a result I wasnt able to take any honors sophomore year but I had an upwards trend from 3.14 to 3.79 and now junior year I am in 4 honors 2 cp and 1 ap. next year i am taking 5 aps and 1 honors (dont know if senior year schedule even counts lol). If I get straight a’s for this year my gpa for when I apply would be 3.6 uw and 3.7 w because senior year gpa doesnt count. for sats I am aiming for 1520+, sat II math 2, physics, chem 790+, and act 33+. I know my gpa sucks for top schools, and i really do not think i have a chance but I might still apply to atleast be considered i guess? Please let me know if you think there is anything I can do to higher my chances. btw I am a pakistani female, muslim, and in the pre-med track
^ someone please give me your opinion!
All of your ECs are great! And your grades too! The question is what schools are you aiming for (no need to actually answer that). Depending on the school, the value of you ECs and grades change.
Bump, i really need your guys’ insight. I know you guys have a lot to say, please say it.
You had an intern in a hospital and still want to be a doctor. That’s a plus.
I didn’t stand a day.
Tutoring, newspaper, job, club president and eager for academics (competition leagues). Seems good.
There is nothing especially outstanding, to be honest, but your ECs are really good.
It seems like you’re capable of a really good school, but the super top will be a matter of luck, with nothing strongly indicating that you are likely to get in.
You can try. But it’s up to you if it’s worth the effort, money, time.
