Currently enrolled in:
-Math 16A (3 units)
-Nutri Sci 10 (3 units)
-Psych 2 (3 units)
-Education 24 (seminar, P/NP) (1 unit)

Planning on enrolling in ESPM 50AC (4 units) and possibly a DeCAL.

Can anyone tell me how this schedule looks in terms of difficulty? All of these are breadth except for 16A (I'm pre-Haas).

Thank you!

I took all of the same courses during my first semester with the exception of ESPM and Education. It’s very doable. Nutri Sci and Psych 2 were a joke, and Math 16A with Johnson was easy as well.

Unless you are highly prioritizing graduating early (which is hard to do, though doable, with Haas based on the program’s set-up anyway), I’d take one less 3-4 unit class than you have listed and shoot for 13-14 units once you’ve added the DeCals/seminars. The classes you have are manageable, but focus on getting good grades in the classes you take rather than taking many classes and perhaps even some of those pass-no pass to later make it more manageable (as you’re pre-Haas). Because it’s your first semester, you may feel overwhelmed by the general expectations of Berkeley academics (not to mention many smart people take those classes with similar goals). Also, you may want to substitute in any pre-requisites for majors/minors if you knew what you want to do for your back-up major and/or if you want a double major or minor.

Thanks for the responses =] I’ll probably not take the DeCAL so that’ll put me at 14 units.

DeCals are notoriously hard to get into nowadays so I wouldn’t count them when considering unit count.
