I’ve been studying for a while now and have gotten SAT writing and math down to an art, where I miss at most 2 each section. However, I am constantly missing 10 on the reading section. I’ve done so many practice tests, watched so many videos, and read so many books, but I can’t seem to shake it. I going for that 1600.
Does anyone have any solutions for me? Should I get a tutor? I have 2 weeks
@MattyCRaps@CenturiesAway Hi! One strategy/mindset that has served me relatively well (I received a 770 CR in January, and recently scored 800 CR on a practice test) is to recognize that there is only ever ONE correct answer and that the other three answers can usually be objectively ruled out, i.e. definitely, absolutely wrong. Sometimes the reason is even a single word in the passage.
So if you’re stuck on a question, try to determine why three of the answers are WRONG rather than worrying about which answer is “more right”!
Good luck tomorrow (or whenever you’re taking it)!
@Monkey288195 Thanks! Typically, the first thing I do is read the questions (and immediately answer the “in this line, what does this word mean” ones). I also take note of any quoted segments in questions and underline them in the passage. After that, I read for detail and answer questions as I go.
