RD Acceptance/Denial Letters Early?

Do any competitive schools ever send out their acceptances/denials earlier than April 1st if they can tell that the candidate will be really good/really bad very quickly? I guess what I’m asking is is there any chance I could get a letter either way earlier than April 1? Or is that really uncommon…

<p>Some schools send some "early writes" to selected group of students in the middle of March (Duke, LACs).</p>

<p>I know that Dartmouth, Amherst sends likely letters, Williams sends Early writes these usually come end of Feb./ early March</p>
