RD Decisions

Just starting a thread for when RD decisions come out! They should be here within the next 48 hours or so. I've been so nervous all week! Who else is excited!?!

I’m excited! On the ontrack website it says that they come out tomorrow, hope they do! Can’t wait to hear if I get in or not.

ACCEPTED!! Presidential Scholarship- Not accepted to the musical theater program, but happy to have an acceptance before hearing from the rest. They were posted at midnight. GOOD LUCK!

waitlisted

Originally deferred, and now I was waitlisted. Frustrating. :(

S3 also waitlisted.

I got accepted and also got a presidential scholarship ( : GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ELSE!

Waitlisted people: If Elon is really where you want to go, make sure you let your admissions counselor know. You could also ask your hs guidance counselor to call them and tell them of your interest. It makes a difference!

I will add to BLK’s comments…if you would like a Spring option, let them know that as well; last year a number of waitlisted kids were offered Spring when the chips fell out…

Hmm, waitlisted for fall with Spring Admission, went to my GC and she made it seem like I was overqualified, that’s a little disappointing, thought for sure I’d get in!

THIS TIME, SOMETHING ESCAPED THE SWAY…

really, I’m banking that diversity had something to do with it, considering how many people applied from Ridge

My daughter was offered spring 2014 admission and was waitlisted for fall 2013. Elon was her least favorite of the the six schools she applied to. She has been accepted into the honors programs at the University of Michigan and Ohio State. Still waiting to hear from Brown, the University of North Carolina and Dickinson. We were underwhelmed by everything about Elon during our visit, other than the pretty campus, so this is no big deal. She emailed Elon back to ask to be taken off their lists. Good luck to everyone who feels Elon would be a good fit for them.

^^thanks for sharing; what a productive post! :)

Does anybody ever get outright rejected from Elon? All I’ve ever heard of are acceptances, deferrals, and waitlisted.

do we also get the decision in snail mail?

I don’t believe that post was productive at all.
@kierans, yes. One of my classmates was rejected.
@EDhelp123, yes. It should come within the next few days.

Choochabella’, I hope your daughter will be happy in the honors program at Michigan or Ohio State, or wherever she decides to attend. Perhaps your D’s waitlist simply proves the adage that Elon is VERY unpredictable in their admissions, because they are truly wholistic. It could also prove that if a student doesn’t really want to attend a college, if it’s their “least favorite” of 6 colleges, that might come through in their application and essay and the college will look past their fabulous grades and waitlist them.

Kierens, Elon only rejects about 20% of their applicants. They waitlist 30%, and accept about 50% (at least that’s been the figures the last few years). I don’t know why they give so many wait lists - part of me thinks they just don’t like to tell kids “no.”

Termah: guess you couldn’t detect my sarcasm…

Lafalum: Bingo…

I was accepted!!!

13all94 I’m so happy for you!! We were just there for orientation and it is really an amazing place. Our daughter just wanted us to leave her there. Congratulations!!
