waitlisted. semi-ouch, but it makes my decision easier, I guess. hah.

30 ACT
3.6 GPA
2020 SAT
good recs
VERY strong extra curriculars

Kinda weird, though…seeing as how I was accepted to some “better” schools (Carleton, W&M, Bowdoin, UPS w/ full scholarship). Oh well! What’s meant to be is meant to be!

whatever63092-Yes, you don’t have to be a Richmond Scholar to receive aid. I didn’t get any scholarships from URichmond but they offered me a $30,080 university grant.

UR was my daughter’s first choice. I went there, my sister, my husband and my husband’s three sisters, one of which went to Richmond law as well. My daughter received a letter on March 25th saying that they never received her first semester grades so they withdrew her application! She was accepted to 7 other very good schools who received all of her grades. She was not rejected from any schools that she applied to so far. Richmond said they sent her two e-mails telling her of the missing grades and that she never responded. We looked through everything and couldn’t find any e-mails. My daughter and I had been communicating with them about other issues (she with questions and me with 2009 income tax statements) as recently as a few days before. She is in top 10% of her class, 3.9 GPA and a 28 ACT. We called immediately, and when we talked to the Dean, they said she never registered on their Banner Web, but neither did my sister’s son (her cousin) who was accepted. His grades were comparable, but his ACT was a 34. They told us that because we are alumni that they would put her back into the application process. She just received her letter and they waitlisted her. Any insight?

I would check with the school guidance counselor and ask if they can provide proof that grades were sent. That would be my first check (make sure her High School did what they were supposed to do). I know of another girl whose school missed sending out grades to another college (same story) and it was the fault of the high school counselor. Worth checking into. Good luck!
