my son is waiting to hear from BC, but their reputation for f/a is that they are not generous to the average applicant from a middle class background because there are thousands with similar qualifications from around the world willing and eager to pay list price. Simple supply/demand economics.
Now if there was some special qualification the applicant has that BC has a need for, then the money flows.

What about international students?

If we are supposed to send in the deposit by May 1st...

Talk about cutting it close!

^ seriously. there's not much time for us to decide the next 4 years of our life. except i'll most likely get rejected..

I was looking back on the threads from last year. They said then, too, that the decisions would be sent out by April 15th, but in reality, they started to be sent out on March 20th. So now I'm scared. The end.

So nobody has heard from BC yet?

Wow, the 15th really would be crazy.

The financial aid comments is really disappointing too. Does anyone know if BC considers adjusting FA if shown that other colleges have given you a higher amount?

Good luck to all.

The comments about Financial Aid at BC are accurate. It is such an 'in' school these days they don't need to offer great FA to attract students. I was interested in BC but sort of lost favor with me for many reasons. A couple were the separate campus', the fact that they don't let students interview until after they've been accepted and the whole FA thing. I know I am not elegible for aid, and wouldn't expect it, but the fact they are so stingy with the kids who do need it really turns me off.

If someone calls can they please let us know what they say!? Because I really hope we don't have to wait until mid April!!!!!!

My friend's dad called yesterday to make sure he had all his financial aid stuff in. The guy said they'll send them out in April, by the 15th.

Thanks!! ahhh that sucks though!!!

does anyone know how decisions will be mailed? by regular post or by courier?

i'm really worried that i'll hardly have any time to think about going to bc, since i live in teh philippines and it takes forever for any regular post to get here.

For what it's worth, an article in their Faculty/Staff newsletter, dated March 15, stated that decisions would be sent out "late March". Also, There were 28,000 apps this year. You can find this by sleuthing around their website.

Personally, I'm hopeful that by next Saturday, my D will have all of her decisions.
Then the tough part begins-- her decision.

Two years ago, it seemed like BC sent out rejections first. At my YD's school (in MA), the first to hear were the ones who received rejections. It was a long week for my daughter, because all around her everyone was getting a rejection. She finally received her acceptance at the end of the week (it was actually Good Friday!). Not sure of the exact date, but it was at the end of March. This year though, with so many applications their time table might have changed. Good luck everyone.

I think what Dogwood says it true. Acceptances come late. A few years ago, I remember that the waiting-list kids heard before those who were accepted.
Also, I don't think BC has ever strung their applicants out till April 15. Their letters have historically arrived around the same time as the other New England schools, though perhaps a few days later than the LACs who sometimes jump the gun a bit.

Those of us who got in Early got an updated RD acceptance packet last week and in it it says theres going to be another Eagle Day for RD acceptees on April 15. However, if thats the case, all the acceptees would need to hear well before the 15th in order to be able to plan the visit...

The second Honors day is the 14th. Good point, SerraPadre. I hope they find out earlier!

Well, word has it that two interesting things happened in Admissions today - 1. Maria Schriver came w/her daughter (currently a hs junior), and, more importantly, 2. Two mail trucks were filled w/28,500 large & small envelopes - The decisions went out today... This is going around BC - if anyone wants to get it officially, maybe you could call...

well they are cosed now for today! Ahhhhh I hope it's true!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I volunteer in admissions and the letters were and are being sent out this week.. So good luck everyone. you should be hearing within a few days. And for those of you who get into BC. Congrats and lets go eagles!!!!!
