RD Notification Date!

Really, what's with these conspiracy theories?

HA! speculation ends now!! HAHA i lovez it. i'm so freakkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkking scared guys! i don't wanna get rejected from nu i really love the school :-"(

Man, I've already pretty much decided that I'm going to BU, but if by some off chance I get into NU, I might have to reconsider.

I'm anxious but not really expecting good news.

woa 19% increase! how low is the admit rate going to be?

Thanks for the info, Laura!

"I assume acceptances are going via some overnight carrier and rejections via regular mail? If so which carrier please?"

Curious about this too. Any ED people know?

Great.....

I live 45 minutes from NU, so I'll probably get my letter tomorrow. Crap.

I don't think NU sends acceptances through an overnight carrier...
I was accepted ED and it took a couple of days for my letter to get to my hosue (I live in the Northeast).

Thanks Typecast

same here...ED regular mail.

We're all gonna find out tomorrow afternoon online anyway, so it doesn't really matter when the letter gets here, unless someone plans on waiting for the letter. That would be torture! lol

Wait, are decisions going to be posted online tomorrow? Or just the emailed instructions on how to eventually access the decisions?

I live in the Midwest area, not in Illinois but nearby. Does that mean I'll get my decision letter in my mailbox tomorrow?

as I recall, for ED, the instructions for accessing the decisions were available when I went in to check the status of my application. I entered my email address in one box and an assigned number in another box. I entered the information for a few days before the decision actually was available.

Have you checked the "status of your application" page lately? You may find that it has changed.

Can any other EDs remember how this worked exactly?

My acceptance came in a big envelope (not huge and bulky). I don't know what the rejection envelope would look like, but my guess is that it would be standard business sized.

I applied using the Common App, so I don't know the link to check my application status. Ohhh, big envelope. I hope I'll be getting that soon! Lol, this sounds really lame but I had a dream a few nights ago where I opened a big envelope from NU in my bedroom - it was an acceptance letter! I hope it comes true ..

Did you use the NU supplement? If you used both, you should be able to find out how to access it your application status. I'm guessing someone on CC can help you with this.

I hope your dream comes true. Many do you know!!!

Good luck!

Thank Wintersilk!! Were u an ED applicant?

Omg, I was just looking through another thread and I found that ...
"About 2,000 international students applied to Northwestern this year, up 54 percent over last year.

I'm an international applicant (australia) and I am super screwed. Why were the college admissions so strict this year?! :(

Yeah, I've noticed that too. Most of the colleges I applied had record years in terms of applicant pool. Duke's, Brown's, and Hopkin's acceptance rates were either below 10% or very close to. Wonder why that is. Is it because of an influx of international students? Either way, I feel bad for my cousin when she gets to applying for college; she's in the largest US class ever.....

yes on the ED.

Maybe you are just super and not super screwed. I wrote on some other thread that there's no way to predict who will get in unless an applicant is over the top qualified or doesn't meet the minimum standards. It all depends on what the ad coms are looking for to comprise its freshman class. Maybe they'd love to have an Aussie!

Soon you'll know. I hope you get in!

:(! i'm intl too and will most likely be rejected! (alr got rejected from cornell..)
anw, does NU fedex acceptances to internationals?
