<p>i tried to shorten it so you wouldnt have to take so long to read it</p>

<p>Asian Male From CA
GPA: 3.72 UW, 4.0 W
SAT I: 2270 (780 M, 800 CR, 690 W)
SAT II: 760 Chem, 800 Math II, 630 Lit (took Lit last after two other tests)</p>

<p>Btw SAT score is from one sitting. I've only taken it one other time and the super score doesnt change what I have written</p>

<p>ECs:
Jazz Band 4 years, among the top in state, bunch of awards
DECA two years, president, state winner for competition
Did service work in Costa Rica and Mexico over two different summers
Held a couple jobs, interned at a law office</p>

<p>AP Distinguished Scholar
national merit commendation </p>

<p>Recs:
teacher rec is solid
my essay/short answers are pretty solid, probably nothing spectacular but above average</p>

<p>It's pretty disheartening though seeing every applicant's chance thread filled with such great numbers :(</p>

<p>yeah but I've dedicated a lot of time to studying for the test, so it's not like I just took the test without knowing anything about it before :/
I just want to know if my GPA will hinder me from getting accepted and does anyone think that if I get in, that I would have a shot at a merit scholarship or any other type of scholarship?</p>

<p>nah, i don't think your GPA will be an obstacle. the average is 3.6 so you're pretty set. i'm not sure about the scholarships though</p>

<p>Is the average GPA really 3.6? The only thing holding me back from applying to Stern is my 3.5 GPA. Everything else is pretty solid. Would I stand a chance with above average SAT scores (I won't post details here because this isn't my chance thread, but my composite score is 2320/1560) and good extra-curriculars?</p>

<p>Your SAT scores pretty much compensate for that 3.5 GPA so I wouldn't be too worried about it if the rest of your application is as solid as you say.</p>

GPA: 3.5/4.0 (upwards trend, but probably what's going to kill me)
Course Load: pretty rigorous, albeit not the most.

<p>Arbaz, I think you have a good chance. It shouldnt matter what your GPA is if you have an upward trend. And you also have good test scores and ECs.</p>
