Re-taking poor grades

I didn't do so well my freshman year, making four Cs and coming out with a 3.0 GPA (not terrible for a first year, but I made as many Cs as As!).

Would it be worth it to re-take those Cs one summer? I know that law schools see that you made those marks, but would it redeem me somewhat if they saw that I tried to correct myself? I'm willing to try anything, I don't have the strongest GPA and will struggle to make a 3.5 (I may only come out with a CGPA as low as a 3.3 by the end of my junior year).

By all means, retake those classes if you think you can get higher grades, but it counts the same as if you took different classes. So it might be better just to find easier classes to take.
