ECs- has plenty some in interests and a good bit in her expected major. Has a few leadership roles. She’s a good writer so I expect her essay will be fine.

Since her auto admit makes UT Austin her safety, we are trying to put together a good list of matches and reaches. She’s looking hard at JHU and is also interested in Columbia, Yale, Stanford and UPenn, but they feel like serious reaches with little chance of getting in. So we really need some suggestions that we might not even know about…

Any suggestions for top schools in Psychology, Neuroscience, Neurolinguistics?

She doesn’t care so much about size, but would prefer an urban location, with a good music scene as she is also a singer.

University of Rochester

Thanks we will look into it…

Have heard great things about the Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology program at Wash U. (St. Louis) http://pnp.artsci.wustl.edu

A friend of my daughter’s was just admitted to this program and will start in the fall.

@SATXMom2 may I make one small suggestion?
there is NO reason for her to take AP stats her Sr year, as taking 6 tough, demanding AP classes is MORE than enough. She would be better off having a free period to be able to do college applications, [which is like having a VERY time consuming part time job during the first semester of Sr year] , homework, sleeping, eating, or just catching her breathe.
NO college is going to look down their nose at her for " only" taking 14[!!!] AP classes. The MOST elite colleges, including Stanford , have repeatedly stated that 6-7 AP classes in HS is MORE than enough.

As far as suggested colleges, she should add USC [ Southern Calif] to her list, as long as she applies NO LATER THAN DEC 1, in order to be in the running to be selected for consideration for a 1/2 or full tuition scholarship.
Did she take the PSAT this year and if so, did she score above Texas’s cutoff #?

@menloparkmom Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely suggest it to DD.

As for AP Stats or taking 14 APs for that matter, she actually wants to take the class. I will make the suggestion though because i agree with you. (And she might consider it cause its not coming from me, lol)

I think it would be good to have a free period to work on essays, etc. She has a couple of teachers who would also happily let her be their aid and tutor kids in their classes.
