reachhh me...i need helppp puhhleazzeee

After researching and researching colleges which I am interested in applying to I could only find four schools which I would really love to go to if I were to be accepted. These schools are: Penn (ED), Michigan (I will have my rolling decision app out soon), Cornell and Northwestern. Of these schools I see Michigan as a safe match for me and the other three as Reaches. Thus I am looking for a few more match/reach schools to apply to regular decision, just so I have a few more options because I won't be able to visit Michigan/Northwestern until the spring. Here is a little bit about me (Ill try and keep the stats to a minimum)

SATS: 740 M, 720 CR, 700 W (retaking for 1500/2200)
SAT II: 780 US, 770 Physics, 740 Math I, 720 Bio, 710 Chem
ACT: 36 M, 36 R, 35 S, 26 E --> 33 (retaking for 34+)

GPA: 95 W (STRONG upward trend....92 --> 95 --> 98+)
Courseload: 9 APs + all other honors + Russian
School: No rank, competitive school on Long Island

ECs: Student Gov (officer), DECA (officer), Spanish Club (President), Baseball, National Honors Society (officer), Teens as Leaders (youth group, officer), Lead AIDS Peer Education Seminar

Internship for Hedge Fund/Publishing Company

Ok now here is what I am looking for in a school:

Social Life: I definately enjoy a good party and will make the most of the social life on the campus, thus there must be an active social scene. However, I will almost always put my education before my social life.

Sports: I would like the school to have atleast a decent athletics program, but I could deal with an awful team as long as there is at least some school spirit.

Location: I would prefer an urban campus, yet I would also be happy at a more rural school which is situated in/around a quality college town (I.E. Ann Arbor). I am also looking to stay as close to Long Island as possibly while preferably not being in New York.

Academics: As of now I believe that I would prefer a school strong in the liberal arts/sciences with an exceptionally good economics department, however I would be open to undergrad business programs. Ideally I would like to be in a program like the Philosophy Politics and Economics program at Penn where I can focus on economics while recieving an education in poli sci/other liberal arts subjects while giving sciences such as physics a try.

Possible Career Path: I would love to work for in investment banking for a firm such as Goldman Sachs, in NYC.

In addition to the schools I am already applying to (Penn ED, UMich, Cornell, Northwestern) I was thinking of applying to: Georgetown, Emory and Wash U.

I would really appreciate any suggestions!!!!!

Brown, Duke, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Boston College?

How about UW Madison? They have a lot of the things that you are looking for. Your numbers should get you in there without too much trouble.

"36 M, 36 R, 35 S" holly crap, stop the madness!!! Good job
"In addition to the schools I am already applying to (Penn ED, UMich, Cornell, Northwestern) I was thinking of applying to: Georgetown, Emory and Wash U."
Those are pretty damm good schools.

I was originally planning on applying to Brown, however I spent a Saturday night on their campus with my cousin and did not see too much of a night life so I was kind of turned off. However I will probably end up applying there as it seems to fit most of criterion well.

I am also looking for somewhat of an intellectual population, it is not the most important thing, yet as I mature I see myself fitting in with people of all inclinations, thus I would like some intellectual diversity.

Brown has an AWESOME party scene. Add it for sure.

These suggestions sound good so far I think I am going to add Brown...Anyone else?!

Duke, Colgate, Holy Cross.

Dartmouth actually has a great social scene. UVA and UNC are in great college towns.

Dartmouth and Colgate are a little small for my tastes, I should have mentioned that in my post earlier.

Would you all say that UVA/UNC/Duke have an extremely different feel than northeastern universities? I was considering applying to UVA a while back but I have heard from people very much like me (Outgoing White Jewish Males from Long Island) that they were not made to feel entirely welcome at UVA for their first year or two. Now I am in no way "dissing" the school or anything but I was disuaded from applying to UVA/UNC because of that.

Thanks for your opinions!!!

I'd say given your interests (lively campus, exceptional Econ/Business programs, desire to work for a major IB, loyal alums, strong athletic tradition, urban/pleasant suburban etc...), Duke, Michigan, Northwestern, Stanford and UVa are probably your best bet.

UNC-CH also would be a great match

The instate/out of state ration at UNC, 82%/18% kind of scares me, is there a lack of diversity at a school like that or UVA?

Actually UNC is pretty diverse (25% + minority), and overall its a great college experience in a fun, open minded, casual environment. I wouldn't be concerned (and I'm a minority).

Oh, for some reason I did not expect that.
