Read the first draft of my essay?

I chose the first choice for the common app essay, and I want to know if my essay topic works or if I should just start from scratch. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sure send me the essay!

I would love to look over it!

Sure I’ll read it

@nyuhopeful44 DO NOT post or PM your essay to anyone that’s not a trusted person.
You have no idea who you are sending it to. Good Lord!
You cannot use this essay for college now.

Sorry

If the people “offering to read” submit your essay to NYU as if its their own, can you stop them?

@nyuhopeful44 posting your essay or PMing it to strangers with 5, 10 or 15 posts (all new members) is a HUGE risk

Its like sending your Bank Account number and password. Do it at your own risk. There are veterans on this Forum who are willing to help. They are your parents age. I am a parent too. Dont send it to me. I am not an expert reviewer.

How do you know the newbies are experts?
What makes you want to trust such posters and hand over your work to them?

Is your essay copyrighted?

Colleges will accuse you of plagiarism if you submit this essay after having it “reviewed” by newbies. (since it might already get submitted by the “kind readers”. May not happen… or very well could).

Its like asking a stranger to guard your house.

Dumbest thing to do… sorry for saying that.

@BoiDel there’s a whole article on this page about how to safely send essays for proofreading. Just because people commented that they wanted it does not mean that I PMd it to them. I’m looking at their other threads to make sure they aren’t rising seniors also. Geez, that was so mean.

@nyuhopeful44 If you feel insecure about sending it to me over CC, I can give you my college edu email and you can email it to me there

I would personally decline to send essays to newer CC users and high schoolers as well. Can’t be too careful!

I was personally waitlisted at NYU and then accepted off the waitlist. Unfortunately had to decline due to financials.

@Syrxis sure, pm it to me! Thanks!
