I haven’t decided yet… i would love to go but the financial aid was horrid…

Hey guys i got accepted and have absolutely no intention to attend so im letting the admissions office know as soon as possible so a waitlist can have my spot.
Good luck!!
im also waiting for a WL at washington university in st louis

and to add to that–if ur on the waitlist, fear not, the yeild rate is low for BU acceptances

I’m an International applicant from India…I got in but I have to pay about 54000…I don’t think I’m going…

I’m not going to BU if my waitlisted schools accept me
So you should also wish for me to get in one of my waitlisted colleges haha

yay wanji! go to those waitlisted schools T~T

Im in the same boat as wanji if im accepted off the wailist for carnegie i will decline my spot at BU CAS. I dont think im gonna go there anyway like everyone has said the aid is horrible. I would be incurring 25,000 in debt every year isnt that outrageous!??

No, it’s not outrageous that you’d get about $25k in aid and thus have $25k to pay. You think schools are made of money?

In any event, I hope you get in where you want.

i know! your soo right! Collegea arent even made of money and i honestly think you should be thankful for getting that much! im probably gonna be forced to pay the full tuition!

dont be rediculous! No one should have to kill them selves and be 100,000 in debt to get an education. Education is not a privelege its a right! It has a become a “business” especially since they are being supported by people like you two!! If everyone demanded lower tuition it would happen! " do you beleive schools are made of money?’ are you joking? what else are they made of? i mean every kid is paying almost 50K to be there with over 8,000 kids there, they are minting gold! Its not like they throw the money back into the school have u seen some of the gross undergrad dorms? Those last two comments really ****ed me off! why should i have to killl myself in order to pay for school?? Its just not right! I work hard, im at the top of my class, im very very intelligent, i will probably become a doctor and eventually a civil servant, I think the college should invest money in me! I think the government should invest in its youth! its disgusting that you would think i should be happy to pay half of my tuition! Raise your expectations and have faith in yourself. You deserve the best! and dont settle for the glass half full because you deserve the entire glass… well atleast i know i do and BU is just not making the cut!

engineering spot just opened, im declining my offer. no aid.

hahahah well that’s why bu is a PRIVATE university. all private universities cost a ton, and bu does invest it’s money in a lot around the school, like renovating 2 brownstones every summer and the towers dormitory, building agganis arena and the gorgeous fitrec, and beautifying the campus. i do despise that i’m paying so much for an education, but i’m getting a top-notch one so i can’t be too upset. plus bu accepted me to grad school 2 years early and saved my thousands by not having to apply to schools and pay for travel for interviews.

k-12 education is a right; higher education is not. Everyone should know by now that college admissions and fin aid is a numbers game. Perhaps the other $25,000 you wanted went to another qualified student. And agreed, AliAngel, the tuition money does go right back to the school. Where do you think it is, sitting in a jeweled treasure chest in President Brown’s office while he taps his fingers like Mr. Burns and says “Excellent?” As for the “gross” dorms, what should we do? Tear them down right now and deprive 1000 freshmen (most of whom are just fine with living there) of living space? Take a few years and build some new ones while we cut our admissions rate because we don’t have space to house our incoming students? Hey, man, in an ideal world. But without those students paying tuition, we’d be in more debt than we are now. Improvements take time, and fiscal responsibility is paramount right now.

idk if I"'m going…I"m still hanging off a cliff but I’ll definetly let them know if I don’t end up going. At this point, it’s dead-lock’d between BU & another school :(

What people seem to be forgetting is that just because one person rejects their offer does not mean that another offer “opens up.” The Daily Free Press reported that BU accepted roughly 19,000 (half) applicants for a class of about 4,000. If more than 15,000 people reject their offers that’s when the wait list will be used.

I was accepted but I will not attend.I am going to Queen’s University in Canada. This school is a much better fit and I get to pay Canadian tuition. I was born in Canada, but I live in Tennessee.

Hey, I’m gonna decline my acceptance tomorrow, so I hope one of you guys get it!

D is declining at Sargent…good luck to you guys!
