Is there a suggested reading list for Georgetown freshmen? Or am I just the girl who asks the teacher for homework?

In the packet they sent you, there was something about reading "The Map of Love" and writing something about it. Just when you think that you will never have summer reading again! Oh well! I'm not sure if it's required or suggested, but you get meet the author who wrote it when you come to Gtown so I figured why not? The book doesn't seem too thick right?

I'm pretty sure it's required, and we all have to go on some Saturday afternoon and have discussion groups about the book and hear the author speak, or something like that. I thought summer reading was just for high school!

It is 500+ pages, but after reading Kant for a year the text should be manageable.

I never read Kant. Do you think the paper will be graded?

I think it's just so we can be prepared with ideas for the discussion. Besides, what would the grade be counted towards? It's not like we are all taking some freshman seminar class or something like that.

haha..the reading is just ********...
we had to read "after the quake" by a japanese author and then go to attend a lecture by him....it was soooo boring....many people left in the middle as did i....our discussion was crap too....a few people didnt even show up...and no it is not graded...so don't worry...though we did get the papers back....i submitted mine through email....a long time after it was due!! dont worry....its a stupid assignment...and is worthless

barcaholic, you have brought a smile to my face.

I got to meet on eof the best profs at Gtown through my discussion, Prof Arend, which was AWESOME! The lecture was boring, mostly becasue of the language barrier, barca, that is sooooo rude! The poor guy...

500 pages? Are you serious?

I forgot college was going to involve work..

Five hundred pages is not difficult if the book is not dry.
