For the act i normally read the passages for the science, reading, and english sections, but in the Pr's cracking the act book it says not to read and just skim the passages looking for the answers. I tried this and tend to get the factual questions right, but when it comes to analyzation and comprehension of the passage questions i normally miss them. What do cc'ers do to get high scores on these sections?

Skim the passage for factual questions. Then read a second time for analysis and comprehension. They usually have more factual questions, so I'd do that first. The with the other questions, I'd eliminate the obvious wrong answers, then guess from the remaining two or three if you're pressed for time.

skim the passage so you have a general idea, then do the questions that mention specific lines. by the time you get to the more generalized questions you should have a pretty good idea of what the passage is about.

I'd practice reading alot to try to get your reading faster. I'm very confident that my reading speed was the most important part of my success on the ACT.

read for english and reading...skim for science.
