I'm unsure whether to scan the passage before answering questions or not. I read the passage the first time and got a 26. I skipped it my second time and got a 26.

Someone give me some advice, just so I can get a 29+ on this section!!!!!!

I got a 30 mostly by skipping the passage and going straight to the questions, then referring back to the passage. Didn’t really prepare beforehand.

I don’t know what everyone here is talking about. NEVER skip the passage. The key is reading it REALLY REALLY fast. There will be questions that require you to find information from within the passages, and if you skim the passages you will better understand the experiment. If you skip the passage, you will waste valuable time searching for information. In my opinion, you should read the science passages at a pace that feels slightly uncomfortable, and then you’re reading fast enough.

This is why the everyone has to figure out their own strategies. I also got a 35 Composite with a 36 Science, but I didn’t even skim the passages. I move straight on to the questions, glance back at the graphs as needed, and move on. Reading really fast simply doesn’t work for some people.
Advice to the author - do 4 timed practice science sections, 2 skipping the passages and going straight to the questions and 2 reading through the passages first before answering the questions. After analyze your results and see which option is better for you, because none of us can give you a fool-proof method for doing this.

I think you should at least skim the passages. Although, people say go straight for the question for time management I read the passage. You might be able to answer a question without having to refer back(saving time). I have found this to be true for reading also.
