Readjusting my college search: Social Sciences in Canada and England (I'm in the U.S.)

Hello,

I need some help with my college search. I have lived in the U.S. for 17 years and I think it is time for a change in landscape. Sadly, I really have no clue where to start with that, I do not know any colleges in Canada or England, and I do not know if I would get into any of them. So I came here, in need of help.

I am looking to study geography or food anthropology/geography, however the food anthropology is more niche, but would be absolutely delighted to be able to study that. Furthermore, I would like for it to be in a bigger city, I cannot stand living in the country.

Anyways, moving onto my credentials, in 9th and 10th grade, I didn’t do outstanding, I think I averaged around a 3.1 or 3.2. However, in my fall semester, I studied abroad, which I think is a big plus for me. Furthermore, in 11th grade I tried a lot harder, and I got a weighted 3.45 my fall semester, and a weighted 3.83 my spring semester. I have played sports each year, water polo and baseball. Also, I have taken French all three years, and will take a fourth. Thus, I am open to english speaking universities in Quebec, or in France. I really enjoy French and would love to improve it, if possible.

I would love some to look at, as I don’t know where to start, I will be here to answer any questions, thank you!

In Canada, colleges are community colleges. You are looking for universities. If you are looking for a bigger city, that pretty much restricts you to McGill, University of Toronto and University of British Columbia (UBC). If you are open to smaller cities, 500K - 1 million, that opens up more possibilities.

What are your SAT or ACT scores?

Oh, I thought I had listed that… My ACT score is a 30.

Information on Canadian and UK universities is online. If you cannot find the information you are not prepared to go to university abroad.

Sorry for asking for direction.

UK schools won’t care much (if at all) about your GPA but will have strict standardized testing requirements.

What are your SAT/ACT scores?

My ACT score is a thirty.

In that case, the UCAS schools are almost certainly out of reach.

What do I need?

For English unis:

  1. Good AP scores in the relevant subjects.
  2. Ability to pay.

Your ACT score is fine for Canadian universities.
