I don’t I mind very much that he wants his particular kind of person to get married to, but I find it difficult to swallow the rant about why Penn can’t be what he wants which is mostly of white Christian students so that he can live his so called dream of finding his mate in college. I am a down-to-earth nice white Christian student and nevermind that other people have to also live in this world, all I really want is this to be my own personal paradise. What kind of juvenile immature and narcissistic statement that is. Oh, and also, no other Christian is good enough, it has to be white Christian, which basically is saying the color of your skin is more important than what’s inside.

To Pennboy 25…Could it be possible that you are a bigoted anti semite and don’t realize it ? Consider that. If you were good enough to get accepted to Penn, clearly you were accepted to other fine schools. I suggest you consider one of them. You will not be happy at Penn. Your spot should go to someone who will appreciate the opportunity.

You’re going to have a terrible time at Penn. Never leave campus. Always make sure you get an escort to walk you home, oh wait, most of the security is black, nevermind then. Ok, make sure you find a friend to walk you home because that kind of attitude towards “mixed-type” people is not going to make you popular in Philadelphia. And join campus crusade as soon as possible, although if you say any of the racist stuff you just mentioned they’re going to give you a loving talking to. Cru is full of awesome Christians who will NOT stand for that kind of thinking. Also you might want to check out College Republicans. Although there are quite a number of Jews in College Reps, too.

How about you just transfer to Moody or Wheaton? They probably won’t tolerate the racism there as a whole, but maybe you’ll be more likely to find a mate there that shares your antiquated views.

Also, if you’re going into college because of your dream to find a wife, you might want to brush up on your scripture. Particularly Matthew 4:7

I’m going to assume that was a remark aimed at not knowing or not liking the Penn Cru people, which is fine and not a remark that Christians are inherently racist. Cru may have changed since I left, but from what I remember, they have never tolerated racism.

It was a remark aimed at anyone that claims to know what “thoughts” any religion will tolerate. Lets try not to turn what is already a ridiculous discussion into a personal agenda thread.

Fair enough. Agreed. Hopefully we’ll also agree that ridiculous ideas are not confined only to the religious or anti-religious. Fair?

I thought this thread was quite funny and entertaining actually, especially the long discussion about the original poster’s intention behind the term “jap.” And yes, it is quite ridiculous. I believe we probably share similar opinions on the original post, so I regret if I offended you at my post or reply. It was not intentional.

The truth is that Penn is actually incredibly cliquish and that you’ll probably find some group of people who feel exactly the same way you do. I’m a freshman and have to say that the hall-centric/clique-centric atmosphere is a real *****. At the moment, I’m juggling a disparate group of friends simply because I don’t get along with my hall or any particular clique and everyone else does. The other thing is that Penn is actually crawling with bigots such as yourself (though they’re mostly not as explicit about their stance as you are). So maybe you’ll luck out and get thrown in with a bunch of like-minded (that is to say close-minded) individuals.
