Realistic?

Ok I want to start by saying that yes, I screwed up and my Gpa is **** poor low, but now Ive woken up and know what I want. My Gpa is somewhere around 73, on my first Sat im looking at a 1600-1750 realistically at the most. The problem with all of this is that I want to go to Fordham U. Now for EC's, I am a Brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner, and will be ranked this year in the nation, I am also flying out to LA for the world championships. I volunteer to assist in teaching the kids classes at our academy, I also volunteer at a summer camp we have for them. I will be running for class president, and if I lose I will be in student government. My cousin(Who I consider my sister because she's lived with me all my life graduated from Fordham last year, but not until now have I realized that I want to go there. I will be pulling A's in my classes for the next 5 marking periods so that should bring my Gpa up. I want to study communications or journalism. Would I even stand a chance at being considered to Fordham? Or should I try and go to community college and attempt to transfer in, or just go to a cuny?
Thanks for all your help in advance:)

Bump help please

Honestly there is really no chance. Fordham’s average GPA for incoming freshman is an A- with around a 1900 on the SAT’s. With your GPA you’d need well over a 2000 to be considered. Three EC’s is not much, although Fordham looks very favorably on volunteering. Still, your stats are so far below what Fordham expects I think you’d be better off trying to transfer in, although know that they will look at your hs grades and scores will count if you apply during/ after freshman year.

Thanks for the help. Never the less, I still plan on doing everything I can to get in, so ill be applying for the early decision, and working my ass off in my kaplan sat prep class. Hopefully the hundreds of hours of community service+my personal essay+The legacy part, and my epic turn around in my grades gives me a chance. I saw on college board that 9 percent of all freshman had below a 3.0 gpa so hopefully that can be me=)

Oh I forgot to mention that Im a URM, live in the Bronx, and not a good part of the Bronx, come from a single mom, and go to school in a terrible neighborhood, next to the projects, if any of that matters.

I dont know much about Fordham but those are some really low grades, although the jiu jitsu is pretty cool man

Living in the Bronx will help a bit, Fordham has a huge in-city/ local population. Having a cousin graduate doesn’t count as legacy, only parents do, though. Which campus are you applying to? Those students typically were recruited/ had super high SAT’s/ amazing connections/ some other huge hook. Do the best you can, it can’t hurt to apply, but make sure you have some safeties on your list.

I think probably Rose Hill. Can you give me an example of a huge hook? Sorry but im not sure what that would be. Also when colleges look at applications which marking periods do they look at from my senior year?

I’m about to walk out the door to go to BJJ class as it turns out.
