Reality of scholarship money, what r u getting

Just for the sake of knowledge and curiosity are people game to put down here how much they are actually getting in financial aid for their sport alone. How about in this format.
year in school- sport- male/female, public or private, NCAA or NAIA and division and what is the % per year that the athletic aid is covering.

so for example..

freshman-basketball-female-private, NAIA Div 1-55%

please take into account the total cost of tuition room and board and books and figure out how much is covered by athletic aid only. It might be interesting to see the results.

Hmm okay no big deal, guess no one is interested in posting. My thought was that it might be good info (a dose of reality) about what is really provided for athletic aid in various sports at various levels. Sorry all, thought it would be productive. :(

A lot of the student athletes represented here go to Ivy League schools, where there are no athletic scholarships. That probably explains the lack of responses so far.

soph, female, private NCAA Div. 1, was offered book money as a formality for the purposes of the NLI signing, but is receiving more than that in need-based FA that is comparable to what the Ivies offered in FA–something the coach knew and counted on.

Our student is at an ivy…no athletic money/scholarship

My son went to an Ivy and played lacrosse. We were full pay – and contributed/donated to the team on top of that.

Ivy soph; baseball; generous FA

Ivy track. Just for the sake of throwing some non-ivy data points in here I will say she was offered 18K by a Big 10 school and full tuition by an ACC school. But the lion’s share was academic merit money

Feel very out of the loop here, son is at a large public and daughter in a small private both on west coast.

D offered full ride at flagship state U, and the U of Miami. I think she could have gotten the same at other places, had she pursued them.

My FY son is at a DIII NESCAC for football…but all FA is needs-based (no athletic or merit aid). He received about 1/3 the cost of tuition/room/board in need-based grant and work study.

D1 offered full-ride merit at several, chose Ivy athletics: no regrets, no finaid
D2 took merit aid at non-Ivy, not an athlete

My daughter goes to an ivy. We are full pay and contribute to the team on top of that. For non-ivy info, she was offered a full athletic scholarship by one elite private D1 - essentially the cost of tuition - and offered “significant” athletic scholarships by 3 other top non-ivy schools - 2 private, 1 state - (never got to exact “significant” $ amount as she did not choose to pursue). Another elite private non-ivy D1 spoke more of “earning” the $ through performance rather than being offered a specific amount upfront. I suppose they rely on FA to fill in the gaps in the meantime for those athletes looking for $ - I did not have that conversation with the coach.

S D1 Atlantic 10 baseball. 35%athletic and 35%merit based on total COA. Offered spot at NESCAC - no scholly and won’t qualify for FA. Pursued by ivies, but without FA, wasn’t a reality. Wouldn’t have been the right academic fit.

D basketball Big East private 75% athletic/25% merit … turned it down as she decided she didn’t want to be “owned” by a univ.
