Tufts, thanks for sending that email about the decision date (from Matt Wittman, I think). It was really entertaining--and yes, it was the first email from a college that truly made me laugh. It was well needed during this stressful month.

The e-mail said that the date was to be announced, but I heard on CC that decisions are released on April 1st…?

It actually scared me at first I thought it was a rejection letter…

I read it between classes on my phone. It made me smile, like basically everything I read from Tufts Admissions.

@Thursday8 Decisions are released BY April 1st. Theoretically, they could be released on that day, but normally they come out a few days before that. It’s supposed to be whenever they finish with committee, but historically it often coincides with “Ivy Day,” this year March 28th.

Please repost the email- dying to see it! — From the parent of a very happy
Jumbo freshman who has friends hoping to become Jumbos too

Yeah I feel like Tufts is the only school that actually connects with it’s applicants…not even admits! Just people who’ve applied! It gives off a good vibe about the school.

It’s actually pretty funny. Here is the repost.

Listen, I know we havent talked in a while. Like, a long while. Youre probably a little worried, thats understandable. We shared a couple good blog posts, and it felt like we really hit it off. Did you see that time I wrote about committee , that was great right? Sure it was months ago, but

Hey! Where are you going! Dont close the email like that, cmon. I know theres a lot of fish (schools) in the sea (that massive list your parents perhaps made you write up) and I hope that youre still thinking about what we shared. I imagine youve been waiting to hear from us, wondering when your decision will be released into the wild with a Jumbo shaped hole in your heart, somewhere.

Well announce the exact date of D-Day (decision day) on our Facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/TuftsAdmissions - so keep an eye there.

What have I been doing? Why am I so pale; and whats with the dark circles? Well, the truth is, Ive been reading (I know some of you were hoping for werewolf. Sorry). Reading applications, essays, and the files that you guys pour your lives into. Its been well, exhausting. Imagine finals all the time, working late on a regular basis only to wake and do it again the next day. But you know what? Its not that bad. You make it interesting. No, Im not just saying that. The stories in these files, the experiences you share with me, that makes it worth it. See, Im a great listener too.

Okay, listen I really got to get back to work. It was really good to see you; I hope you havent forgotten about us here in Medford (or Somerville). Lets stay in touch, and maybe well see more of each other come April?

What does it mean if I applied but have not yet received this email

Probably nothing. You still may want to contact admissions if you’re worried, though.

Guys, I love Tufts. I know we all do… but… yeah.

^I don’t think it means anything if you haven’t received the email. You can double-check the portal to make sure your application is complete, and go ahead and like Tufts Admissions on facebook anyway.

Tufts needs to stop being so awesome - it will certainly soften the blow if/when I get rejected.
