I am pretty confused on subdivision admission. So if I apply to a college subdivision that is competitive, does that affect my overall chances of getting into the college itself? Like for example, if a university has a really competitive science program, does that affect my chances. Would it be better for me to apply undecided, to have a better chance of getting to the university itself?
It depends. Some schools will accept you for general admission if you don’t make the cut for your major. Others will not. Check with each school. And be aware that some Us make it very difficult to change majors between schools.
