meh, the good and the bad have come and gone

I really like it. I've made so many friends, and I do think I've changed. It's so hard to talk to people at home now, even my best friends, because they've never even been to Oklahoma, let alone my school, and they all thought I was kind of crazy to go out there in the first place. But I love it, even though I haven't been to a party or anything. It just really fits.

loving it like no tomarro

College is just college for me. Go to class, go eat, go to sleep, study somewhere in between, that's college for me. No, it's not 'Ever so fun!'

College is A LOT more work than play for me. If you are serious about doing really well, you will not be having fun even 50% of the time.

High School was so boring, no wonder I got burned out. College is different. I love college so much, there's always something to do, never a dull moment. In high school you had to be one of the cool kids to party, and even if you did, those parties sucked. In college, no one cares who you are, as long as you don't do anything stupid you can have a great social life. The women are better too cuz there's so many of them, and they're more willing to hookup with you.

..... Academics are great too because you have more independence, not those sillly worksheets in such.

Agreed with everything in post #26 except that little blurb.

well, you're at NYU, which is one of the exceptions to that ;)

You'd think the great disparity would help out straight guys...but it doesn't. Sad, really.

hehe I got rejected from usc, and I go to unlv *university of nevada las vegas. I'm too lazy to change my name, but I absolutely LOVE COLLEGE i'm having the time of my life i'm involved in everything little thing and my grades are pretty good and i have soo many stories and i love my friends besides i love how we're pretty honest and we keep it real i can go on but heey I LOVE COLLEGE!!

i do think college is fun and i dont miss hs one bit. i like being able to do my own thing and kind of remain anonymous around here. too much gossip in high school...

College is pretty dull for me, I can't wait til I'm out. I love Washington, D.C. though.

Two words: LOVE IT. It was definitely time.

College is one of the best experiences you'll ever have.

I think the problem is that people come into college with all these grandiose expectations about what it's going to be like... then when it's not they feel as if they've been cheated somehow.

Plus, I've met a lot of people who complain about campus life and all they do is sit in their dorm rooms, moping and watching the Colbert Report. You have to go out and meet people and get involved if you want it to mean something.

Just my two cents.

I miss college so much. Well, undergrad. Grad school pales in comparison.

I feel bad for the people who don't enjoy it, because life isn't exactly a downhill glide...

i had all these great expectations for college, at SDSU it met them and outdid them. i love college!!! high school was so lame.

I've been away from college for about an hour and I already miss it. Oh well, I guess winter break is just going to have to be amazing. My first semester at Maryland has been incredible aside from a couple classes. It's just sad that I won't get to see many of my friends there, especially the out-of-staters, for a long time.

It seems to me that the people that loved high school hates or feel indifferent about college, but the people that hated high school loves college.

^Actually, I loved my high school...it's just that college is even better.

pretty much my sentiments. i worked my ass off in high school, and while i did a few things to the side for fun, it's nothing compared to what i do in college. going into college i was scared that i wasn't going to have much fun, that i was going to have a hard time making friends, etc. you will have to adjust your tastes in college to take advantage of it...that's not to say you shouldn't be yourself or compromise your morals, but that you need to be open minded to new experiences. if you're not, you can expect to have a less than satisfying college experience. i can honestly say that i've changed a bit since i've gotten to college and that i'll be absolutely happy to go back when break's over, but i still like coming home and seeing my friends.

so far, it's been work hard, play hard and it's extremely rewarding. actually, at one point wasn't sure if i was working hard enough haha (i stopped reading in my art history class about half way through the semester, and never really did independent study in calculus). but sure enough, i think i'll be getting A's in all of my first semester classes.
