I decided after my 3 interviews in this one week that im going to send in a letter of recommendation from my private music instructor (this would be my first "extra" letter outside of the 2 req. teachers / guidance counselor). Is this a bad idea? It's not too late is it? The general concensus from my interviews was that it is never too late to send in extra information. I mean the worst that could happen would be that they don't look at it, right?

Also - along with this new letter, I'm going to try to rush to prepare a CD with a solo or two on the sax.. Would this be sent to admissions office ? Or to the music department? I'm not sure -- probably admissions office right?

Also wondering - what you guys thought would be the absolute latest "Deadline" to send in anything. I just need some time to get back my solos into topnotch shape before i make the CD -- Any ideas/opinions would be much appreciated - thanks guys, Good luck

itd be fine to send anything in through the end of february. just like people send midyear reports after midterms, letter updating new awards, etc. I still have to send my extra recommendation. and id send your music to the admissions office - they'll put it in the right hands

okay thanks -- was thinking this too, any other opinions?

Also wondering.. what would happen if Princeton hypothetically read my app today, and then my extra letter / music CD only reached them in a week, or 2 weeks, or perhaps a month. Would they take the letter/CD into account? Disregard it? Throw it out? -- Would it possibly change a rejection to an acceptance? What are your thoughts...

Pton has a seperate music supplement that has specific requirements on it. They probably aren't too specific for the sax, but you would have to check. I believe the supplement says deadline for submission is the first of January,so you better check with the admissions office.

Yeah the supplement says that - and the deadline says January 1st of course, but my question was whether or not they'd consider it ALTHOUGH it IS sent AFTER the deadline.
