I took the ACT and I’m happy with my writing score but i am taking the actual test again; do i need to retake the act with writing if the colleges require writing or will they understand that i want them to see my original writing score in addition to my newest composite? hopefully that makes sense haha I’m really confused
Your question does make sense. Unfortunately, there is not a single policy. Some colleges consider you as having ticked off the essay box with your first test, while others expect that any test submitted include writing. It’s safer to spend the extra time and re-take writing, but you could also check with your primary list of colleges. Many don’t care about writing at all.
Check the college’s policy on whether they superscore or not. If they do, don’t worry about taking the writing again. If they don’t, you’ll have to take the ACT with writing again if you’re so disappointed about your score.
